Mark Zuckerberg takes the stand in social media trial
Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg faced grieving families on Wednesday as he testified at a landmark social media addiction trial in Los Angeles.
The world’s biggest social media companies will feature in several trials this year, which seek to hold them responsible for harms to children who use their platforms.
Instagram’s parent company Meta, and Google’s YouTube both face claims that their platforms are deliberately addictive and harm children.
Both TikTok and Snapchat’s parent company, Snap Inc., were originally named in the lawsuit, but settled for undisclosed sums.
