Netanyahu says social media narratives have ‘hurt’ Israel ‘badly’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says negative sentiments on Israel spreading on social media, which he blamed on “bot farms” and a cyclical rise in antisemitism, has hurt the country “badly”.

Netanyahu also compared himself to British wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the interview with 60 Minutes. He says that similarly to his position on Iran, Churchill was accused of being a “warmonger” for seeking to combat Hitler’s influence in Europe.
This interview comes as reports suggest a serious fraying of US-Israeli relationships in response to the war on Iran. A Pew Research study from April reports that 60 percent of US adults have an unfavourable view of Israel.
